How we create content
Make Money Optimizer explains side hustles for people in Canada. This page says how those guides are made, and what we will not invent.
Research and drafting
We research and draft with AI assistance. A person does not hand-write every sentence, and we do not pretend otherwise. Andrew publishes the site. He does not personally review every article before it goes up, and articles do not say they were reviewed by him.
What we check
We check facts, figures, and rules against primary sources. For tax and business rules that usually means the Canada Revenue Agency. For provincial rules it means the provincial government. For a platform’s requirements it means that platform’s official Canadian pages. When a guide relies on one of those sources, the guide links it beside the claim and lists it again at the end.
Examples, statistics, and stories
Illustrative examples are labelled as illustrative. A worked week or a break-even sketch uses assumed numbers so you can see the arithmetic. It is not a survey, a typical result, or a promise of what you will earn.
We do not invent statistics, quotes, testimonials, or personal anecdotes. If a number is not in a primary source, the guide either leaves it out or says it is a range to verify locally, such as a shelf price for a shovel.
Corrections
Rules, rates, and app requirements change. When we learn that a guide is wrong, we correct it. If you spot an error, use the contact page and tell us the sentence and a better source.
Affiliates
Some links may be affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never change our recommendations. A product is mentioned because it fits the step, not because a program asked for the mention. Details are on the Affiliate Disclosure.
